The annual Juneteenth art show at the George Washington Carver Museum opens Thursday June 13th. Artists represented include painter Charles Randolph and members of the Coalition of Austin Black Artists.

June 19th (Juneteenth) the oldest known celebration of the ending of slavery became an official state holiday in Texas in 1980.
